This is a modified policy due to Covid-19 to make it easier for our guests to book with confidence that they will be treated fairly when making a cancellation.
All bookings which cannot be completed by a guest because of a change of policy by the state or the federal government due to the Covid-19 pandemic (e.g. a lockdown in a hotspot or a state border closure) that makes it impossible for that guest and his/her party to travel to Cairns will be fully refunded provided that a residential postcode for every member of the booking group is given at the time of booking. A cancellation due to Covid-19 overrides the normal cancellation policy set out below.
You must advise Cairns Holiday Homes or the owner/manager by email if you are cancelling and provide the reason for doing so. A no-show without prior advice of your intent to cancel will not be refunded.

Here is a simple version of our normal General Cancellation Policy as described in clause 3 of the Terms and Conditions.
Once a booking has been confirmed by email from Cairns Holiday Homes, a cancellation between 60 days and up to midday on the 30th day prior to midday on the day of arrival will mean that you lose your deposit.
Once the full payment has been made (at least 30 days prior to arrival), a cancellation inside the last 30 days will mean loss of 50%-100% of the full accommodation cost.
The security deposit and any other amounts paid such as cleaning fees will be refunded.
Here is a summary of these changes for all existing and new bookings:
Cancellations on the 61st day before arrival and further out - full refund.
Cancellations from 60-30 days before arrival - forfeit of booking deposit (25% of the accommodation cost less any cleaning fee).
Cancellations from 29-15 days before arrival - forfeit 50% of the accommodation cost (less any cleaning fee).
Cancellations from 14-8 days before arrival - forfeit 75% of the accommodation cost (less any cleaning fee).
Cancellations 7 days or less before arrival - forfeit 100% of the accommodation cost (less any cleaning fee).
Any cancellation resulting in the loss of the deposit or forfeit of all or part of the accommodation cost can have the loss or forfeit held as a credit voucher to use against a rescheduled future booking, provided that the booking has been fully paid for. The credit note will be valid for 1 year from the original date of arrival.
Where a cancellation has taken place within the 30 day period prior to arrival, we may refund the full rental amount (less any additional costs incurred) to you only if we are able to secure an alternative booking for the Property for the same rental period. In the event of a subsequent booking for part or all of your Rental period, we may offer a pro-rata reimbursement.
All changes to bookings are subject to a $50 administration fee. For your protection, we recommend full travel insurance.
Some homes may have slightly different cancellation policies. If they do, their cancellation policy will be found in the “Details” section of the booking window.
