Indoors

A huge, high-ceiling pavilion with comfy sofas and bar in the tiled living area.

The large mezzanine, above the bar, is queen bedroom 4 with a canopy bed, half bathroom (basin & loo but no shower) and a "Juliet" balcony with a seaview to the south.

The smaller mezzanine, above the kitchen, has a book-lined space with a double bed overlooking the living area. This extra double does allow 10 people to stay but is not a discrete bedroom as the stairway passes it. It shares a bathroom (twin showers, twin basins & loo) with queen bedroom 3.

A wing, off the main pavilion on the ground floor, houses king bedroom 1 with a marble-walled ensuite (basin, shower & loo) and twin bedroom 2, also with a marble-walled ensuite (shower, basin & loo).

A 5th bathroom on the ground floor (spa bath, shower & loo) is for the use everyone staying and visitors. It also has a small enclosed outdoor garden with a shower.

The main pavilion overlooks the heated swimming-pool and the panoramic seaview of Trinity Bay to Cape Grafton and Fitzroy Island. Most of the year, the south-facing indoor area can be left open but in the wetter months a concertina glass wall pulls out to enclose the whole interior space.

Outdoor areas

On the main timber deck, a thatch-roofed gazebo shades a sofa and a large parasol shades the dining table and chairs. The pool curves round the front of the living area to the BBQ deck which can be directly accessed from the kitchen. Another deck below the pool has relaxing sunloungers shaded by 3 large parasols. Below this deck is another quiet paved level. Sometimes, on holiday, you just want to escape everyone and enjoy a snooze or that book you have been meaning to read. Between the interior balconies, the various decks and the 2 person gazebo in the rear garden, you will find your perfect quiet spot.

The property covers 40 acres and there are walking paths through the rainforest. In the wet season the creeks are flowing and the sound of rushing water is everywhere. Sapphire Ridge has such an amazing vantage point that you will just have to rise early one morning and see the sun rise over the Coral Sea. The view takes in Cape Grafton, Fitzroy Island (behind Yarrabah), Mt Yarrabah, Mt Murray Prior, Taylor Point and Yorkeys Knob.

Sapphire Ridge is a one-of-a-kind romantic tropical escape. You have the privacy of a 40 acre property, an eagle's view of the coast and yet you are less than 5 minutes from the palm-fringed village of Palm Cove. You have hotels, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from all the way along Williams Esplanade. Palm Cove is a lovely village with a palm-fringed beach at he northern end of the long curving bay that includes Clifton Beach and Kewarra Beach. Go fishing on the jetty or take a sunrise hike along the beach from Kewarra to Palm Cove and reward yourself with a large breakfast at one of the cafes opposite the beach on Williams Esplanade.

Sapphire Ridge is priced for 4 guests only at $700 pn all year round - daily cost for more guests is:  6 guests $850 pn, 8 guests $1000 pn, 10 guests $1100 pn

Weddings for up to 30 guests

Sapphire Ridge is a perfect venue for a small wedding. It is a very private location with a genuine wow factor. There is accommodation on site for up to 14 guests and plenty more in Palm Cove. 

It is essential to arrange a meeting with Pamela, the owner, to inspect the property and discuss your ideas and needs to ensure a very special day for you and your family and friends. For example, you will need to discuss parking or minibus transport for guests, food (outside catering), drinks/glasses, a marriage celebrant, late night noise limitation and so on. The owner, Pamela, has a lot of experience in organising weddings at Sapphire Ridge so she will really be able to help you organise your special day and take a load of worry away.

The basic wedding package includes:

• 3 nights accommodation for 10 guests - 4 couples & 2 singles
• 2 more couples accommodated in the guest cottage (additional fee charged)
