May 28th-June 3rd Cairns Airport Adventure Festival and Challenge Cairns
Following on from last year's hugely successful Challenge, the event is back again with more or less the same running and biking course but the swim has been moved to city waters off Sailfish Quay. It will be a deepwater start off a purpose built pontoon. The Challenge takes place on Sunday June 3rd.
Other events during this week of adventure include The Coral Coast Triathlon, RRR Mountain Bike Challenge, Great Barrier Reef Ocean Challenge, Quicksilver Reef Swim - Green Island, The Cairns Post Run for cairns and Challenge Junior.

May 24th-26th Cairns Adventure Film Festival
This is the 3rd Cairns Adventure Film Festival focusing on short films and photography. If you have a film you would like to enter you had better hurry up. Otherwise just come along and enjoy watching others do crazy things.

The 4th annual Cairns Blues Festival will be held in Fogarty Park on the Esplanade starting around 11am.
March 16th-25th Feast of the Senses: Innisfail
Under the theme of "Farmer, Food and Fun", Innisfail is again celebrating our tropical lifestyle with the emphasis on local and exotic food. From the opening event beside the Johnstone River and the evening Gala Dinner, with a menu created by Peter Russell-Clarke, there are 10 days of farm trails, cooking competitions, food markets, bush poetry, food photography and more. It will be a great week so make time in your diary to at least have one day to visit Innisfail.
