Cairns / Kewarra Beach (22.5km)
One of our favourite spots for a beach BBQ with a lovely outlook from Taylor Point to Double Island. Turn off the Captain Cook highway at the Kewarra roundabout and follow the road (Poolwood road) all the way to where it turns left into Kewarra St. Follow Kewarra St to the end where you can park in the small car park just to the right of the Kewarra Resort entrance.
The BBQ area is right on the beach next to the right of the beach patrol hut.
Turn left up the beach a short way and the resort has a nice beach bar just above the high water mark. A great spot for a sundowner.
Palm Cove looking back towards Kewarra. It is an easy 4km walk along the beach.
The Palm Cove pier is a great spot for fishing.
