Cairns / Redlynch Bypass turnoff (11km) / Crystal Cascades (9km)
The first set of lights after Loridan Drive going north on the Brinsmead bypass is the Crystal Cascades turn off. Keep left at the roundabout along Redlynch Intake Rd. The lovely series of swimming holes and waterfalls which make up the Cascades are several hundred metres below the Copperlode dam on Lake Morris. It is possible to walk all the way up to the dam by following Freshwater Creek. A great place for a picnic.
